Trans-national Database and Atlas of Saints (TASC)

Feast-days associated with fairs, objects of veneration in the natural landscape such as wells, and commemorations in the names of natural features such as mountains. The records are organised geographically according to both administrative and;topographic units. They are also individually categorised, dated, sourced, and accompanied by other relevant data such as place-name elements, names of important landholders, and geo-referencing. At the time of writing, work on TASC was proceeding;in 14 countries of Europe and in respect also of Egypt - 15 countries in all. The data deposited here represents a selection of work in progress on the area of the English pre-Reformation diocese of Lincoln, comprehending 12 historic counties of;England, and is therefore not to be understood as a definitive body of research.;This dataset forms part of an interdisciplinary and collaborative project to construct a systematic, comprehensive inventory, mapping of, and commentary on religious devotion at the local level.
